  • Just wasted 20 minutes answering the Bonus question on Government Policy to come unstuck when asked to highlight a question. It wasn't working so i have lost any points I would have got. GRRR!!!

    • If it was a technical fault (i.e no ability to highlight) then did you complete the Bad Experience report to tech as well as emailing admin@pickmypostcode.com with the full details?

      https://help.pickmypostcode.com/article/156-technical-issues-with-external-surveys

    • Check out thd FAQ pages. There are instructions there to claim your missing bonus. 😀

  • I was really angry at my friend Mark for stealing my dictionary. I told him "Mark my words!"...

    • There's no words to describe it, I would be speechless.

    • We nearly got caught stealing a book from the library. My friend said "do you think thesaurus?"

  • Puppy Tails Adventures

Today stepson joined me to walk the pups again - only 15 min altogether but at least he knows where we go to avoid the main thoroughfare now, keeping to the heath side of the tracks. Much easier for me with just the two boys on leads instead of three. They had a rest at lunchtme, then I took them outside in the garden just now - Storm has had his first swimming lesson, by the look of him. They all took off towards the pond, and I followed, Shadow and Poppy galloped back to the lawn, then I noticed Storm coming out of the bushes looking a bit shell-shocked and like a spiky loo-brush. He's either been paddling and fallen into the shallows or gone into the little stone trough, hidden in the trees, and only about a foot deep. The other possibility, much more likely, is that he stood on the side of the bucket that was full of rainwater and it tipped over onto him - I doubt he fell in the pond as I would have seen him - I followed them as soon as they headed that way. Anyway, all back indoors to dry him off and while I was then changing their puppy sheets to put them back in, Poppy and Storm disappeared again - Shadow was sitting patiently waiting for me 💖. I suddenly realised what was happening and went after the monsters - sure enough, the two 18kg £30 bags of Harringtons dry food that stepson bought this morning... one now with a three-inch hole right at the bottom, with two snuffling noses buried inside it... The annoying thing is that it happened a couple of weeks ago too and I had intended to put the bags up on the windowsill to keep them safe (fat chance!) but got sidetracked with two people turning up unexpectedly, then an Amazon delivery, then taking the pups out - forgot to do it. Anyway, I have turned ithe torn bag upside down, walloped two rear ends (totally unconcerned) and hopefully left things a bit safer!

Storm is fine after his drenching. I need a gin!

    • Well done Beth & tetleyt. 👍 its the Scottish Grand National next Saturday - it's always a week later.

    • OK, I promised a tenner to charity if Iroko finished. Is there a charity for frazzled puppy-sitters? I know! Bombay Gin Distillery guided tour! OK, maybe the RSPCA could do with it after finding 250 dogs in one room.

Update - have sent it to RSPCA with Gift Aid.

    • @Enver, I had a £1 each way on Iroku..last of the big spenders.

      I won £3.80 😂

@Beth, I’m so glad I don’t have pups to look after.

      You’re doing a great job. 😍

    • You have missed a trick here, Beth. Good advertising for Harringtons.

    • You always make mine and hubby’s day Beth . The pups definitely keep you on your toes . Love all the photos and Puppy Tales ❤️💙

    • Beth, there's never a dull moment in your house! ☺️

    • Haha, Labs love water & food.

Have 2 gins, 🐴 Iroku finished in 2nd place at 18-1.

  • Does anyone win as been playing for months have loads of bonus but never won

    • Many people have been checking for years and not won anything.

    • Amount of bonus or length of time checking cannot influence a random lottery. It’s just down to random luck. Nobody wins until the day they do. 😊

    • Months?

      Pah! Chickenfeed!

    • Em and Marie pay out winners every day. Why not look on the Winners Results page. It shows you all the winners since the site first started.

The Winners Map page shows all those near you who have claimed.

    • Try scrolling to the foot of the page and see the stats which show over £3 million has been paid out.

      Check ... https://www.trustpilot.com/review/pickmypostcode.com

      If you're on Facebook ...

      https://www.facebook.com/pickmypostcode

Browse comments from winners on the draw pages.

Don't expect to win, many have been here over 15 years and have yet to win, but you could win tomorrow!

  • Logged into PMP around 2 pm today for the first time since yesterday afternooon. There were no surveys available and no bonus draws for me! Why?

    • There are always less, often none, at the weekends as those platforms don't work weekends.

If you can't see the bonus draws, try clearing your cache, or a hard refresh on the page.

  • I know about the Foodie names and random nature of draw. But I do find it slightly amusing when WaDinner has similar winners.

Black Spaghetti & Grey Pasta are the latest. 😉

    • Hi Goochy, welcome and Good Luck. Check out the Rules and the FAQ (links on this post and at the foot of every page) so you get to understand how everything works, particularly the draws and their times. Just by joining you've qualified for 6 draws a day, and up to 9 as your bonus builds.

    • 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼

  • Thanks Beth and Em for the very settled looking Woody photos in his new home💚

    • I love the one with his blue toy.

    • I think the ‘yellow thing’ is the new bed they have bought for him - along with the stair gate, toys, puppy pads, food, collar and camera monitor to watch him at night!

    • Thanks Em and Beth - they seem to have a nice garden - glad all is well.

    • Lovely photos, thank you

    • Nice ones, thank you Beth and Em ...

    • No end of trouble getting the pictures from the owner but found he was sending too many at a time. Sorted now, and I am sending to him the pics of Woody’s early days.🙂

    • Thanks for the photos. Woody looks as if he is settling in well 🐕

    • He looks really at home already 😊

    • A dog bed or pillow, perhaps.

    • Ditto, love the one of him on that yellow thing.

  • Be careful and check Trustpilot and other reviews on the Roweashton ad that keeps coming up. They appear to be a scam retailer.

  • We remain in the grip of a global economic crisis, and all the rivers are still flooding;

    I blame the banks.

    • Perhaps you need a bridging loan...

    • My money seems to stream away all on it's own.

    • The current rate seems to be rising again, however everything is fluid, drip feeding is best, hope no-one gets liquidated..

  • Have we all noticed how with the ceasefire in the Middle East, that the petrol and diesel prices are falling as quickly as they went up at the start?

    No?

    Hmm. Funny, that!

    • @Bob up and Down - oh do come on. Describing the Greens as 'Marxist' is a bit like listening to a 19 year old Politics student ranting against capitalism.

The price charged by wind energy generators reflects market demand for their product. Would you advocate a Marxist solution where the State nationalises all such industries and fixes the prices, or would you prefer a non-interventionist policy where the Government doesn't 'manipulate' the market and producers / suppliers of a good or service can charge whatever the market will bear?

If the latter, then OFGEN, OFWAT and all the other regulators would be scrapped and firms would operate in a totally free market in which their sole concern would be profit maximisation.

Be very careful what you wish for, he said, ending on a preposition, which you should never end a sentence with :)

    • Take down the windmills and use those.

    • Tidal devices must not obstruct scenery, fish or shipping passing, wherever they are inspection & maintenance will always be a problem.. Sadly everything wears out, those massive turbine blades go to landfill, so I'm sure tidal energy devices will too.

It is usually too far & expensive across beautiful or rocky countryside to get permission to link the remote generators to the grid or nearest place where the power is needed, Storing extra power somewhere till required is a problem too, perhaps less using old EV batteries.

Maybe ask Richard Branson to look into adapting parts of old plane wings as tidal energy generators?

    • Maybe we need an enterprising billionnaire to set one up in one area and franchise the idea if it takes off. Anyone know of one in this area? I'd love to have free energy in return for being a guineapig for a few years ... not literally, of course. However, you can bet there'd be o end of planing restrictions... wecan'thavethat... someonecomingupwithanideathatworks...

    • Problem is Beth, our government is completely committed to market manipulation. Greens and their fellow Marxists are banging on about how this crisis proves we need more renewables, but they have linked the price of wind power to the gas price, so wind energy is now double what it was in February. No doubt they’d do the same with tidal

    • Not that that oil is suitable for vehicle or domestic fuel refining. We would only make money by selling it - we would still have to buy in for our own use. I will stand by my idea that we should be investing in tidal energy - no one can hold us to ransom over that, it reaches all parts of the country, so not dependent on where refineries or nuclear plants are built, and no nasty million-year half-life for disposal like there is with nuclear.

    • Meanwhile they've discovered thousands of pounds worth of oil in a new part of the North Sea but they're not allowed to drill for it although Norway is making millions from still drilling...

    • Lol 63, during the last fuel crisis the prices in the vending machine at work went up. They never came down. Still had the same crisps. Why doesn't Trump crack down on the countries providing the weapons to Iran (answers on a postcard please).

    • Trump sells his outdated & disused stockpiled armaments to Ukraine so he can get rid of them & make more modern weapons ... & attack Iran, Greenland & other countries he doesn't like, keeping him happy.

Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz to oil from the Middle East (from 35 ships/ day to nil) in protest, backing up or forcing stopping production, which has increased the price of Russian oil, & the US has loosened sanctions preventing other countries from buying Russian oil, only Russia, Iran & China would like it to stay closed.

Any money paid to Russia is spent on drones to support Iran & invading Ukraine (if not diverted into their pockets), keeping Putin happy & sweet talking to Trump.

      Almost a self-defeating circle.

    • It only lasted a day - they did drop wholesale, but are back up to $98/barrel again today.

    • Even if the ceasefire were to go ahead, it will take 6 months for normality to return 😏

    • According to YouGov, 78% of the UK say that the ceasefire will not hold.

  • I decided to take the Termites for their first proper walk this morning, more in desperation than anything else. Neighbour was going out, so I didn’t want to use his garden, as there are too many places to keep track of when the pups go in all directions, so I put them on their leads and we sallied forth in great style. Ten yards later, having tripped me up, tied each other up, got their legs over the ropes etc, I wondered if it was a good idea or not, but we carried on, and by the time we had gone about four hundred yards they were settled and behaving very well. We turned for home and stopped to talk to an elderly neighbour so she could see them, then came home and they were totally shattered. They got straight into their pen, had a drink and some dry food and slept for two hours. Off to the vets for their second vaccination this afternoon - I tied a string across the back of the back seat, onto the metal anchor points each side, then tied their leads onto it so they couldn’t try to jump out when I opened the boot door. They were very good, apart from pulling down the dog guard, but didn’t chew it, and didn’t try to climb over the back, and I met a couple of people in the car park ‘who know someone who might be interested.’ Not holding my breath, as I’ve heard it from lots of people, but Storm did his best to influence them by giving lots of cuddles and licks, and they all sat and lay down on command, which impressed people. Can’t expect any more. Woody’s new owners are on their way here now to collect him. 😢

    • Labradors - though probably still not a lot bigger than yours at the moment - 12 weeks old.

    • Hi just wanted to post to say Beth I feel your pain, i have 6 dogs I'm like a maypole they trip me up all the time mine calm down after a bit but I must look ridiculous what breed are yours? Mine are pomeranians x

    • Yes, the son of the family was over the moon to find he was called Woody. He really likes it - presumably Toy Story fan? I was really pleased that their dog Henry is getting on OK with Woods, although I did suggest keeping them apart to feed them until Woods stops wolfing down his own and piling into anything else available.

    • I am not getting the photos but the pups live in my imagination 😄. Is Woody still going to be called Woody?

    • Thanks for the lovely photos sent to Em Beth. Thanks to Em for passing them on to all who want to see them growing up and moving on. 💞

    • Latest pics of them are nice, thanks Em & Beth8it! . Hope they go to good homes who can look after them.

    • I also hope Woody, and all the pups who have now gone on to pastures new are all settled and enjoying their new homes.

    • Thank you for those wonderful photos, Beth et al. Can't believe they are 12 weeks already! All the very best to Woody for his new adventures in life.

    • Puppies are about 12 weeks now - born 19th Jan. Update tonight on Woody - he had a tantrum at being shut in his crate while they were all having tea, but settled down after and fell asleep. He has met their other dog without any trouble, and hopefully the tiring day will let him (and them) sleep overnight. Sorry they are blurred - they won't keep still! I look at one, get it focused and the other has done a runner. I like the ones of Indi with her babies though. She has been very quiet this evening. Hopefully she won't pine for Woody.

    • Again very nice photos Beth, you know that you will miss them..

    • Thanks for the photos Beth. How old are they now?

    • In some ways, you'll miss them when they're all gone I bet.

    • Thanks for sending on the photos, Em. Beth, they are sp big now - lovely to see them enjoying the garden.

    • I think the tulip one is one of my favourites. I had to be quick, as there weren’t many petals left on some of the flowers by the time we went indoors. Bit of staging them in place, quick ‘Sit!’ and got a nice photo.

    • So long Woody, hope you love your new home.

You'll be able to cope a little better with one less, Beth. Even if it will be slightly sad.

    • Lovely new pics of the pups Beth.Just love the one of gold and black pup in front of tulips, they look as if butter would not melt!

  • Just had a visit from our next door neighbour, bringing me an orchid plant because I'm such a wonderful neighbour & friend! It's a plant because he knows I don't like cut flowers. What a lovely surprise.

    • My next door neighbour goes to Costco, buy trays of cakes and scones and gives them away. Neighbours, tradesmen, postmen, dustmen....... She's so kind, and never wants anything in return. She says she has everything she wants, with her partner and 2 Irish setters. I make up some tubs of flowers for her garden, but it's a poor return for the many cakes she hands over.

    • Or in my case a deadly nightshade...

    • If a neighbour brings you a plant always remember to check it's an orchid not a triffid.

    • How lovely!

    • That's a really nice thing to do 🙂

    • And so modest with it!🙂 Nice to have appreciative neighbours

  • Thank you Beth8it and Em for sending puppy updates pics, they are all so adorable.

    • Thanks, Redz, yes that’s the best way to look at it. It’s for personal achievement, not a career, so technically not important, but I shall still be niggled that I could have done better!

    • FORGIVE CAPS PMP.

      BETH,

THE MAIN THING IS YOU’RE DOING IT FOR YOU. UNFORTUNATELY YOU’VE HAD A COUPLE OF ‘BUMPS’ ALONG THE WAY - SOME MORE PLEASANT THAN OTHERS, BUT AS LONG AS YOU’RE ENJOYING THE JOURNEY, YOU’VE ALREADY SUCCEEDED.

    • Thanks for the great photos. They are growing up so quickly!

    • Well behind on the coursework, of course - coming up to the year-end assignment, which will be my last one in Literature, then next year back to Creative Writing for my final year in that. I know I won’t get a great pass, as last year’s results weren’t brilliant, but considering operations, accidents and puppies etc, if I get through it with a respectable one, rather than a scrape, I shall have to be satisfied.

    • Thanks Em & Beth for the photos. Lovely to see them growing up. Won't be long until they are all with their new people. Maybe you'll have time to write your book then? How is your work going BTW, or have the puppies stalled your coursework?

    • I concur..

  • A round of applause for Janet from Fareham and her generous donation to Cancer Research. 😃👏

    • 🥳🥳🥳

    • 👏🏻

    • 👏

    • What a wonderful thing to do Janet! 👼

    • Congratulations Janet.

i believe Cancer Research should be funded by the government through our taxes we pay, not having donations line the pockets of CEO's through their pay however.

    • Well done Janet, i wonder if Ccc has taken notice ???...

    • I'll second that 👏👏 Well done Janet - may you be lucky enough to claim again soon & perhaps treat yourself 🙋

    • I’ve chosen Iroko, Three Card Brag, Mr Vange, Gerrie Colombe and Haiti Couleurs.

      I just do £1 each way. 😊

    • Twig for me. That's what I will look like if I lose anymore weight.

    • Three Card Brag for me. Used to play it with my lovely dad.

    • ANN 🤣

    • I'll have Monty's Star.

    • Yes, it's my knees.

    • Nick Rocket is a non runner now. So Happy will have to pick another.

    • I'm also going with Firefox, but like Rosy 2 cakes I will also do it as a bet on Saturday.

    • Firefox for me. But I will be having a proper bet.

    • I'm choosing Nick Rocket, he is bound to blast off at the start, leaving the others far behind, for my £10.

    • I will go with Jagwar. After all the cars go pretty fast lol.

    • I always choose by name and the horse normally does not finish 😀 I’ll have £10 on Spanish Harlem please, Enver

  • No matter the survey provider , I am getting a little bit tired of being told " cannot use your answers as there is an issue" but not receiving the 5p compensation . 6 times this week so far !

    • @John F - Just a suggestion: if you are being told 'there is an issue,' might it be something as simple as needing to enable cookies to access the survey?

Different browsers work in different ways, but you can always allow cookies for a specific site, either permanently or as a one-off.

Sorry if I am teaching you to suck eggs ...

    • My surveys have dried up completely. I haven't even had a 'screen out' one for over a week, and I can't remember the last time I was paid for completing a survey. I often used to add several £ in each session. Now all I get is my daily 3p 😢

    • You could note them down and email in once a week, for example.

    • hehe, I was having a good run of 5p screenouts for a couple of days, then last night I had over 30 "issues" in a row which ruined my run.

Then this morning I had 11 "issues" and 3x 5p payouts so they don't seem to be consistent as some pay & some don't despite being from same provider, same minutes & same reward amount.

Got to suck it up buttercup - I'm starting to enjoy eating them ;D

      Su.O.

    • Thanks Em but I won't be emailing you about every 5p I miss out on. I hope that very few others contact you too - you could be swamped 😮😄

    • The 5p Screen Out Bonus is our policy, not that of the external survey companies. If they experience an issue, their system can't communicate with ours and therefore ours can't know the outcome of your survey activity.

If you have answered something and are entitled to the 5p, please email us at admin@pickmypostcode.com. If you didn't answer anything then I'm afraid that there is nothing for you to have been screened out from.

    • Thanks samandi, always seem to be straight away for me.

Beth, it's PMP that pay out the 5p.

    • Six times in a week? That's usually my daily tally, very often more.

    • I find that Pure Spectrum rarely pay out 5p; Prodege usually do, Samplicio more often than not.

    • Samandi, me too.

    • No CS, I have often been told there's an issue after answering questions although some survey companies do cut you off immediately.

    • If there are issues you will not get 5p as you have not answered any questions. That is only paid if you have answered those initial demographic ones and don't fit the requirements. That is explained here ... https://help.pickmypostcode.com/article/101-survey-screenouts

  • Well if it goes paid that'll do me the favour of not havng to check daily, stop all the other draws and just have the main one , oh that wont work will it because of all the adverts before everything .....the adverts should pay for the prize , if they don't, your managing things wrong

    • The adverts pay for the draws which we currently have. Chris is just considering ideas for how to keep the company going and whether Pick Media can develop.

The budget which each advertiser has is out of our control. He is considering other options which would be within our control, that's all, There are no definite plans yet.

    • Why only check the Main Draw when there are about 25 other spaces daily. where your postcde might appear.

PMP getting a gambling licence would also open them to a whole new set of rules to adhere to, not to mention handling the draw entry payments & who has entered the paid draw each time.

    • They aren't thinking about it going *all* paid though - the idea mooted was to have a paid draw *as well*, for those who want to pay for it. The rest of us would carry on with the free draws. If you stop checking daily, or only check one draw and not the rest, then you run the risk you may well miss out if your postcode comes up on one of the days or pages you don't check.

  • Unfortunately, our Mailer server is having issues today so we have been forced to pause the daily reminder send until the company stops having drop outs. This also means that you will not be able to email yourselves an offer using the links.

For those new members who are joining us today, I'm afraid that you will not receive our auto verification email but if you email us at admin@pickmypostcode.com, that inbox is not part of the Mailer and I can manually verify accounts in the meantime.

We do apologise for the issue which is out of our control and which will impact many members.

I'm sure that we will get comments about not receiving reminders / receiving them later than usual. Please just direct them to this post and my apology. Thank you.

    • CS, it’s not a problem receiving them, just handy if I do forget, then again knowing me I don’t always check my email 🙄🙄

    • @AJR, if you don't use the email but are still receiving them, just uncheck the request at My Account > Notifications.

    • I never use the email sent, I just come and check.

    • At almost 5pm we have been able to start the send, so the daily reminder queue will be at least 5 hours later than normal. We just have to hope that the server stays up & running.

(Thanks maddadof, currently experiencing some sunshine which does help lift the mood)

    • I just use the previous reminder, i find that's the easiest for me. Hope you are feeling a bit better Em.. Xx

  • What a weekend, Friday was a nightmare, my daughter (41) had burst appendix 4 weeks ago emergency operation. Things didn't seem quite right so had to go back to hospital for tests, all day waitng to be told it was just a stomach bug. Saturday my 14 year granddaughter fainted ( don't know why) smashed 4 front teeth that went through her bottom lip, hospital then emergency dentist, to have a brace fitted to pull the teeth straight. To.top the lot my 20 month grandson came running at me while i was playing with him and he managed to poke me in the eye, landed up at the hospital emergency eye department to be told very bad scratch and was given antibiotic drops. They say things come in three's, hopefully that's it.

    • How are things now, GG?

  • Puppy tails update

This morning, while letting the Termite Brigade demolish my garden and trying to salvage various plant pots (with plants), brushes, washing pegs etc I suddenly found myself alone - they had scarpered round the side of the house, out through the gate and joined a couple walking past with a field spaniel running loose and little puppy on a lead, only a few weeks older than my lot. Having beaten the tribe into submission and herded them back in ( I found the wire today to fence the gates again) I decided I had earned a bit of fun, so this afternoon I put them all on leads and we proceeded in a relatively civilised way out of the gate, in my neighbour’s and up to his ex-field, now his lawn. I released them from the leads and my neighbour came to play with them, so we spent the next 20 mins or so saying, ‘Getoutofthere, don’tdothat, stopchewingthat, whereareyouStorm (it’s usually Storm who goes exploring), putthatdown etc. Eventually I waved the white flag and carted them home again - I now have silence, apart from a few little snores. Bliss.

    • Little b..s turfed out the waste bins in the lounge again this morning while I was cleaning the pen and changing the sheets. I thought, 'Oh well, can't do any harm... just another mess to clear up.' Then I saw Woody gallop past with a charger lead trailing from his mouth, and Shadow attacking a charger while Poppy and Storm fought over the brown bag that they had been in. Woody had gone round behind my chair - somehow - it's a tiny gap - and dragged out the paper bag that I had my electrics in ... out of their reach ...

    • Jaffa, they'd probably just chew on it.

    • You need a doggie treadmill Beth!

    • We have been to the neighbour’s lawn/field again yesterday and today. Yesterday stepson came - not particularly helpful as he stood chatting to neighbour while I did the running around in pursuit of termites as they investigated the barn, garden, log pile, workshop, greasy underside of tractor… today I was on my own and I was really pleased with the way they all trotted along on their leads, not dragging me and keeping relatively together - Poppy crossed in front of me once, got accidentally squashed and fell into line again. They had a lovely time hunting the cat food that he puts out for Spare Cat, though there was only an empty dish, so no luck there. Having thought about paddling in his shallow wildlife pond, and chickened out, had wrestling and chasing games and attacked Indi, who happily rolled over and let them, they were getting tired, so we lassooed them again and I headed home. They crawled into their pen and haven’t moved since.

    • They sound a bit like small children. Fine on their own, but mayhem when in a group. 😀

    • Love the stories about the pups Beth. I will be sorry when there are no more.

    • Yes Beth, they do take up a lot of room on the bed don't they? Lola thinks it's her bed that she is allowing me to share 😂

    • Sounds like they get very excited when they are out together and sort of egg each other on. I'm sure it's great fun for them.

    • Samandi - very tempted to keep Shadow, he's such a sweetie. Very like Indi was at that age. He always comes back to wait for me when they go careering out into the garden, and is a bit steadier than Storm, who is always at the centre of any trouble, and first to go walkabout. Shad usually comes very quickly when called. Then again, it's another lot of insurance, injections each year, food, and another one on the bed. Do I really want to end up on the floor...?

    • I'm worn out just reading that Beth...

    • Bit of a “Rowdy” song there, Enver..😉🤠!

      LLAP 🖖!

    • Great!👏🏻👏🏻

    • You'll be lost when they all leave home, they are such good company. Did you say you were going to keep one of them or will it be just your stepson's Poppy who will be staying?

    • Next thing is to try training them to pull a wee steerable cart with a handbrake & you riding on it? 😂 Mush, Gee Up, Yee-haa!

      🎵🎤🤠 Keep rollin', rollin', rollin'

      Though the streams are swollen

      Keep them doggies rollin'

      Rawhide

Through rain and wind and weather

      Hell-bent for leather

Wishing my girl was by my side

All the things I'm missin', good vibes, love and kissin'

Are waitin' at the end of my ride

Move 'em on, head 'em up, head 'em up, move 'em on

Move 'em on, head 'em up, rawhide

Cut 'em out, ride 'em in, ride 'em in, cut 'em out

Cut 'em out, ride 'em in rawhiiiiiiiiiiiiide.

    • When I get them out individually, for about 10-15 mins a day training, they are so good I get very proud of them - walking on a loose lead next to me, instant sit when told, down (takes a bit longer for Poppy and Woody but Storm and Shadow are really good), Wait while I step back several yards and then return… all went out of the window with them all on leads. It was more like the Charge of the Very Light Brigade, with me trying to restore order and keep two in each hand, with the leads not tangled, none of them stopping for a sniff or scratch, and no play-fights on the way. I failed.

    • Sounds good fun! You must let out a big sigh of relief when they're all asleep and you can relax for a while! ☺️

    • Sounds fun if somewhat exhausting.

  • Tim Lihoreau was asking on ClassicFM this morning what people were having for breakfast. Definitely a day for having eggs for breakfast, he said. They used to have an incredible chef at ClassicFM, who made wonderful eggs, but he’s left now. He got poached.

    • Surely he was talking about eggs on Fry Day!

    • The nuns🐧🙏🏻🐧📿 at the monastry asserted that Benedict was there frequently.

    • 🤣🤣

    • Was his name Benedict?

    • Or scrambling out of the way?

    • Wonder if the chef had been a bit shy but was coming out of his shell and running away?

    • Was that a yolk Beth?

    • Must've been head-hunted...

    • :-)

    • ;) ;) :)

  • Are you feeling a bit better, Em? I know you were very down, understandably, but hopefully you can pick yourself up again.

    • Sending you both love and kind thoughts💞 As usual you are both supporting each other and coping as best you can through this horrible situation. Understandable you are feeling down Em - easier said than done but try and stay hopeful. Wonderfully supportive messages here rooting for you both.

    • Thank you all.

    • Sending lots of love to you and Simon Em ❤

    • Husband used to take oromorph - it was the only morphine he could tolerate without horrendous hallucinations. I’m glad Simon has something strong to help. As Poppy says, fresh air will give you a lift when the weather is good, even if you only get out in the garden.

    • Clarithromycin can upset the stomach so it certainly won’t be helping. Two weeks is not long but it must seem an eternity to you both.Hope Simon improves a bit.

I don’t know Simon’s eating regime but maybe some of the high bacteria drinks or yoghourts might help a bit if he can take them?Hugs to both .🤗🤗

    • Im not surprised your still feeling down Em. My thoughts are with you and Simon and your families.

    • Very difficult times for you both.... as ever, sending much love and hoping for the best. 💗

    • Em, sorry to hear that Simon is not feeling well, hopefully it is the side effects from the antibiotics.

If you can, try to get out for a short walk each day if the weather is nice, it will do you good.

      Take care 💕

    • Thank you all. We saw family on Fri & Sat, but then just rested Sun & Mon. Poor Simon is not feeling good, pain, nausea, not eating much and not sleeping much. We hope that it is still side effects from the Clarithromycin antibiotic, but the Oncologist said it could be the cancer too. So we just have to wait and see what happens. Many people have had very bad side effects from this antibiotic, so we're praying that it is not the cancer or he'll have to manage these for the rest of his life. He's taking Oramorph a few times a day.

I'm still quite down. It's naturally hard to watch and he doesn't want to leave the house and I don't want to leave him, so we're a bit cooped up. We just have to keep waiting and watching.

The chemo starts in a couple of weeks.

    • I think you may well be spending some time off until tomorrow Em so I do hope you have done something good .

    • I think you're speaking for the majority of us.

    • And all of the above from me.

    • I ditto the above

    • I echo that.
