• Mon. 20th July - a scarcity of surveys on Sun but Fubsy & I each added £2 to our bonus, well done us👏 -&- ralphy - Shyboy & maddadof each added £1 to their bonus pots, well done chaps👏

How is this new week shaping up- any decent surveys out there? I’ve only just come, so not even 3p yet, hope you’ve all done better🤞

It’s been a cooler day here with quite a lot of cloud & only the odd glimpse of the big shiny thing but really warm, so all the washing got dry & the greenhouse, pots & plants have just been watered & the ponds topped up.

Some shopping was done this morning & we actually received another 2 letters, so 🤞deliveries are back to a manageable level.

Still seem to be spending a lot of time on phonecalls, though at least half of it, is spent on hold! Our Wi-Fi is playing up at the moment, keeps dumping me & saying Captive WiFi - whatever that means!

So will finish this quickly incase it does it again. Hope you’ve all had an enjoyable weekend, some cooler weather & are all keeping well. Hugs to all.

Best of luck with surveys & the Draws 🍀☘️🍀☁️⛅️🍀☘️🍀

    • Not much doing regarding surveys but a day when I think I achieved quite a lot.

I have got to have a fasting cholesterol test at 11.40 am tomorrow as it’s the only one they had but I don’t normally eat before 11 am so I should make it.

Looking at the weather forecast rain has disappeared for the next two weeks so back to watering the garden.

      Hugs to everyone.🤗🤗

  • Garden update (totals):

    Have cut 6 cucumbers & 17 courgettes.

Have lifted some garlic, carrots & potatoes.

Asparagus looks like I'm getting a second cut.

    Have parsley & mint.

Artichoke producing 2nd & 3rd flowers, bumble bees like them.

Beans, onions, leeks and tomatoes (and others) progressing though nothing to harvest.

Still using last years soft fruit (from freezer) & onions.

    End of gardening update

    • Hi Jaffa, Thames Water here and like Shyboy I don't have a hosepipe ban.

FP, Its taken a while for the asparagus to get going however it seems OK in the raised bed and as there is compost in the mix it is easy to move it away from the spear I want to cut so I can get a longer one. I only have the 1 crown that I can crop from the other plants are still developing. I'll probably get another 2 or 3 spears from it this year.

      Cut 2 more courgettes today

    • My car looks so dusty it looks as if I have not used it for decades.

I use dehumidifier water and dish water on things that can cope with it.

Good luck on keeping it all going.

    • Jaffa. Southern Water have a hosepipe ban but we are Portsmouth Water so we are OK at the moment. Washing up water goes on the hydrangeas and lavender. Haven't washed the car for a while, it's covered in dust from the harvesting nearby.

    • Shyboy and Bruce you must be working hard in this heatwave not to lose all your produce.I hope you don’t have hosepipe bans soon.

    • I've got a very good crop of blackfly on the climbing beans. Keep blasting them off with the hose. Very pleased with the bush beans, when ripe they are cream coloured , which makes it easy to pick. Still miss the odd one!.

    • Sounds like you have plenty to choose from Bruce8, I love Asparagus, does it only grow well in raised beds?

  • Sun. 19th July- Shyboy added £3 to his bonus, well done Shyboy, top place today👏 - Beth8it added £2 to her bonus + advanced 4 LB places, well done Beth👏 -&- Susiewoo2 rolled over to another £1 too.

Congrats. to all, especially Shyboy & Beth for beating the odds of a really slow weekend, hopefully some of you may have added something today🤞 nothing here though I’ve only just come to check.

Another very busy day here, an appointment and an unscheduled visit + several phonecalls, 1 very long. Home now & hoping to relax for a few hours.

Very warm again, it’s going to be rather a shock to the system when it eventually ends. We’ll all be looking for all the bedding & warmer clothes we’ve all put away, for a start.

Hope you are all ok & have had a pleasant Sunday & not been too affected by the weather, anyone had any rain anywhere? Sounds a bit of a daft question at the moment. I wonder where all those thunder storms went to.🤔

Best of Luck to all in the Draws 🍀☘️🍀☀️🍀☘️🍀

    • I'm also glad Spain won. There were some appalling scenes at the end with at least one of the Argentine players throwing punches at the Spanish and pushing them to the ground.

    • Thanks Jaffa, I didn’t see the football but from the news coverage Argentina are not a very nice team, very poor sportsmanship, so I’m glad they didn’t win.

    • No rain in my area yet but it’s a few degrees cooler. No sign of surveys which is normal for me on Sundays.

Now off to bed after watching the WCup finals, so pleased with the result.

Good luck for all on Monday.

I hope you have a more relaxing day Flower.

    • Had about 10 drops @ 0900Hrs, but it is cooler now @ 2218Hrs...

  • Sat. 18th July - no top dogs today- instead : Fubsy - Bridie - ralphy - Shyboy - Jaxster - Malc_H - Jaffa - Bruce8 - maddadof - Beth8it & I each managed to increase our respective bonus pots by an unimpressive £1! -&- Enver rolled over to another £1 too!

I’m pretty sure that’s the first time that has happened with so many folks included. Well done to all👏 - I’m wondering if it’s been just as bad or worse today, as we’re now in the weekend slowdown. Anyone have any luck? Nothing here, only just come on to check.

It’s been a bit cooler today again, mostly cloudy a.m. with a sunny afternoon & evening. Much more comfortable, hope it’s not too bad where you are.🤞 Mr FP is still having to water pots, greenhouse & some of the more delicate plants, just a bit time consuming but no rain in the offing.

I hope everyone is ok, nice to see Bridie adding some bonus- hope you’re ok Bridie & keeping as well as possible, hugs to you & NokeyBlokey- I don’t suppose the weather is helping with all the problems you both have.

Wishing you All Good Luck in the Draws 🍀☘️🍀⛅️🌤️🍀☘️🍀

    • How horrible for you Enver some people are soooo inconsiderate.😡

    • Our landscapers were round about 3 days ago, scalped our communal lawns which are looking a bit worn & yellow in places now, & the council did their areas the following day, council always leave the cut grass. Had to water plant pots on my balcony as they were bone dry in a perpetual warm breeze. Spuds, chives, mint & garlic doing well.

Took ages to defrost & clear out my fridge/freezer, as I could no longer open the drawers.

Someone had a BBQ on their wee balcony (which is not allowed), choking smoke was drifting slowly round our whole estate for several hours setting off fire alarms, & a ghastly smell of idiots smoking weed, so I had to close my windows.

    • That's 10p more than me today Malc!

    • A whole 13p for me today.

  • Yay!I watered the lawn today for the first time in a week and it went green…ish.

Must be the high cloud taking the heat down a bit.

I hope others of you have also had a pleasant day and it’s been a bit cooler.

I think the heat was starting to make me grumble a lot and not just about the weather.🥵😡

    • Yep, I have a lovely beige lawn too !!

    • Yes better here Jaffa, though our ‘lawn’ is very dead looking, not a lot of green!
