Midsummer Mudders

by Chris | News, Pollfish

chrisJust thought I’d give everyone a “general update”, since there’s nothing big to announce, quite a few small things to mention and frankly, I’m struggling to get my brain out of TA11.

First thing, thanks so much for everyone who sent in videos and volunteered to be interviewed about being a PMPer. We’ve had some absolute gems and can’t wait to start putting our video together. If you want to contribute, you’re not too late to get in touch on:

Our Facebook page
Twitter
Plain old email

Secondly, apologies for teething problems with the Pollfish Offer Wall on the Survey Draw, and thanks to everyone who has fed back about experiences, good or bad. If you’re experiencing problems, our top tips are:

  • Allow the surveys to open in a new tab. You should be prompted. Hopefully, only once.
  • Turn your adblocker off. We should be whitelisted anyway, of course 🙂
  • Allow third party cookies
  • Set your browser not to clear cache on closing

Apologies if these sound quite technical. Basically, if your browser is set to be ultra-stealthy (your prerogative of course) websites, and the services they use won’t be able to remember anything about you, which may require you to repeat yourself. We are aware that the Cint surveys can be annoying with their re-routing, but please bear with us. We’re working on a solution to stop this. As Dave Moore suggests, you can just close them when they say “Looking for a survey”.

Finally, Dave Moore has also pointed out that those annoying “Better Ads” popups should make an unwelcome return as they’re starting to use browser memory, rather than cookies, to remember your preference. Please take the time to either allow the personalisation or configure. Sorry, that’s just how the internet ‘works’ these days, and there’s little we can do about it.

Anyway, hope you all enjoyed the summer solstice over the weekend. Re: TA11 (bet I made you look it up…): If you’re one of the ~200,000 people heading to Glastonbury this week, don’t forget to pack sunscreen, and the wellies just in case. If you spot me, do say hi 🙂
