  • I'm in a really good place just now.

    I don't mean emotionally.

I'm in the beer aisle in tesco!!🤪🤪

    • :-)

    • It depends what they have & if you like it but I know what you mean.

  • It was a very emotional wedding.

Even the cake was in tiers.

    • Ah…. the 'old ones' are the best!

    • :-)

  • I was reading a few days ago that there is now some serious questioning of Donald Trump’s sanity (what kept them?). They are saying he is having trouble stringing sentences together, contradicting himself, unable to understand or remember basic facts… apparently the only way to remove a POTUS is to enact Section 25 (I think) which has never been done and would be extremely difficult. It was prepared when Reagan was shot, with all the forms drawn up, but he still had mental capacity (unlike ….) so I don’t think it was used, and when JFK was killed it just automatically transferred power to LBJ. They haven’t had to remove a sitting president before, as even Joe Biden stood down voluntarily in the election race. Watch this space!

    • The alternatives to Labour would have had us bombing Iran at the start. Farage and Badenoch want to be Trumps friend. Trump is the enemy of anyone who isn't a wealthy white male.

    • How can we get Starmer and his crew out before he completely sinks this island?

    • Vice president and a majority of the cabinet have to agree that the president is not able to do his job just to get the ball rolling to get rid of him. It is extremely unlikely that Vance would do this or the >50% of the cabinet.

    • I can’t see Trump going easily and he does still have a lot of support in the US.

I do fear for the Americans because it is very likely there will be retaliations in the future but he will probably have served his term by then.

Lucky it was on airplane mode!! 🤪🤪

    • Smy ling.

    • 😂

    • Made me smile.

    • :-) :-)

  • I've been playing for 10 years now, my bonus is almost at £100. I'm thinking of leaving but wanted to ask if my bonus could be paid to be charity please? It seems unfair that I've earned it but players should be able to choose from a list of charities to donate to. We do hear about the thousands of pounds won but what about the hundreds of thousands that aren't claimed / won? What happens to that money?

    • I forgot to mention that if your postcode is drawn, and you claim, you then have the option to choose to donate to a charity of your choice. If you do PMP will double your win for your charity.. By doing this Pick my Postcode has paid over £34,000 for charity.. And it hasn't cost any one of us anything, apart from visiting the site 2 or 3 times a day. Green Anonymous, PMP makes revenue from the advertising yes, but also from the surveys. When you take part in a survey, PMP get paid, and your bonus builds up. Nobody should expect to get rich on something that costs nothing., but there has been some very big winners, somebody could sign up and win a rollover prize of £600.00 the next day.

    • Sod's Law: your postcode will appear after you leave, so you won't see it to claim either.

    • The site is designed so that the bonus only gets paid when someone wins. If people (or charities) started getting their bonuses without a win, it would send the site bankrupt. The money isn't generated by people building up their bonus, it comes from advertising revenue.

    • Your bonus is just an amount built up to add to a win if you get one. It doesn't physically exist as money until that point. The surveys and advertisements are what keeps this site free. The revenue from these is used to pay the prizes (including any bonuses).

  • It doesn't feel right today to be happy, I'm sure I am not the only one feeling this way. I can't stop thinking about Em and Simon and all they must be going through.

I know life goes on, and all that. It just makes me feel guilty for having a nice day in the sunshine.

    • All the above from me too. Tears in my eyes now.

    • Partner, relatives and very close friends in my case, so yes, much empathy and prayers.

    • I agree with everything said above. Having lost 4 of my closest relatives to cancer I can truly feel empathy.

    • It is so sad and the worst part is the waiting. I'm sure Marie will pass on all our good wishes, it really helps you feel less alone knowing others are thinking of you.

    • I hear you @Happy and feel the same! Everything Em and Simon have been/are going through has hit home extra hard for me. Just before the pandemic started, we lost our wonderful 40 year old nephew to cancer. He was a marvellous person who was born with spina bifida and had fought so bravely to overcome his health problems all his life. And - here's the bit I never stop thinking about - he had only just found his wonderful soulmate. Very much like Em and Simon. It was heartbreaking for everyone - his girlfriend, his parents, all of us. So I really feel for Em, Simon and all of their family. It does make you appreciate everything you've got. Don't forget to hold your loved ones close every day.

    • @ PicklesTheKat and Beth8it, well said to both of you. Xx

    • Thanks to everyone for saying it all for me - there are times when you just don't know what to say, but have to say something. Let's hope they are getting all the support they need.

    • I feel like all the above.

PicklesTheKat🐈, what you say is so true.

    • Thinking about Em and Simon has made me reflect on all those who don't or can't share their lives online, or who have no family and, sadly, suffer in silence, frightened for the future, alone. So sad. Things like this never happen to "bad" people.

Whilst there are a lot of extremely shallow people on the internet, thankfully, they don't seem to be part of PMP.

Our 'family' expands and contracts as all families do, and just like real families, we care, we listen, and share the joys and sadness, even if we have no words to express those feelings.

I'm certain Em and Simon, particularly, will appreciate all the comments shared at this time.

    • I'm sure many people are feeling this way and can't stop thinking about them. I know I can't.

I also know that Em would not want anyone to feel guilty about enjoying life. I'm going to share part of a conversation I had with her a while ago which I actually screenshotted as a reminder. She said she wanted the people around her to see what they are going through, "learn from it and make every moment of life count".

I think she would be happy to know that you are finding happiness and enjoyment in life.

    • I agree with all of the above. Keep thinking of Em and how she must be feeling, it's just awful.

    • I know what you all mean, i just have hope everything will go well..

    • I also can't stop thinking about them.

    • 😥😥😥

    • I've been on auto pilot in the garden since we came home after the covid jabs. Keep asking why should it happen to a lovely couple.

    • Yep, me too. Keeps popping into my mind, when I was in the middle of shopping and again when we were having lunch out.

    • I feel exactly the same, Happy. Simon & Em's dilemma have been entering my head all morning.

I bet we're not the only PMPers either. So sad :-(

  • Morning, all…!

Bit of a long post - sorry!

In November last year, Mrs T bought me a great Birthday present - a four Supercar, 2 lap blast at Brands Hatch racetrack, finishing with a 2 lap high speed passenger ride in a car of my choice. We waited until the weather improved before booking it, and I finally did it on Wednesday 22nd April which was brilliantly sunny and a great day to go racing. I started with a passenger “intro” ride in a BMW, which let me see the layout of the track (they were using the “Indie” circuit @BH…), the corners, straights, chicanes, driving lines, etc, which was very useful.

First car I drove was the Aerial Atom, an open top 2 seater sports car which looks like someone has taken a pile scaffolding, added an engine and four wheels and sent it out on the road. - This one was difficult (very high power to weight ratio, so it was fast), but being open top we had to wear helmets which prevented the instructor from using verbal commands, relying instead on multiple hand signals for “accelerate”, “brake”, “gears” etc., and I made right hash of it - still enjoyable though, and at least I didn’t crash…😳!

Second car was an Aston Martin DB9 - much easier to drive (power steering for one thing…), and this went much better, as the instructor could give verbal directions for steering lines, braking and acceleration points, and I got round the course much faster than in the Atom.

Third car was a Ferrari 430 - much faster and lighter that the Aston, and I was beginning to learn the track so these 2 laps were much better and faster, although it was still scary flinging the car into the corners so fast. On the scoring system (just a bit of fun - nothing serious..!) I was now up to 32 points out of 40!

The last car should’ve been a Lamborghini Aventador, but unfortunately this had mechanical problems (good advert for Lamborghini…🤔!) so it was replaced with a Lamborghini Hurracan EVO, and as an apology I got 3 laps instead of 2. This was a very quick car (once I’d gotten into it - the first one I tried the drivers seat wouldn’t move back enough for me to fit..), and these three laps were the best yet - I have absolutely no idea what speeds I was doing (too busy concentrating on staying on the right lines to look at the speedo…), but I got my best score of 32/40 which I was quite happy with 😀!

For the high speed ride I paid a bit extra to upgrade to the Aerial Atom - after my fiasco at the beginning I wanted to see just what it could do in the right hands. Wow! It seemed as though we spent most of the 2 laps going sideways, as the driver drifted around the bends and hurtled down the straights - I glanced at the speedo (once..) and saw we were doing about 140mph - and the 2 laps went past in less time that the 3 I did in the Lambo.

After a brief pit stop to change my underwear (😉!) I queued at the media desk to receive the videos and photos that we paid for - the video footage is on an SD card, and the photos were emailed to me, and they make a great memento of the day!

All in all I’d recommend this experience if you’d really like to find out what it’s like to drive a supercar without having to win the lottery (the main one, not PMP..) and buy one - beware though, there are a lot of “add ons” to the initial cost (a £50 damage waiver for instance - if you don’t take this you’re responsible for the first £5,000 of any damage that you cause…😲!)

I delayed posting this until now, as I did the experience the day before Em posted her bad news regarding Simon, and didn’t think I should post immediately after this - hope everyone understands my reasoning.

    LLAP 🖖!

    • For my 60th, oh bought me racing in Formula Ford at Castle Combe. Its basically like an old style racing car. I did a lap with the instructor driving in some sort of supercar to get used to the track then one with me driving the supermarket. Then a test lap in the Formula Ford, then about 6 of us all out at the same time racing. It does feel very fast, because you are so low to the ground. I did manage to overtake 3 other cars! which was good fun.

    • SWMBO bought me a Glider pilot trial to reward me for all the running about when she had canver in 2015/16 - locak hospital for chemotherapy and side effects, Beatson Cancer Centre in Glasgow for radio therapy (x-ray).

½ hour lecture on safety and procedures around gliders and airfield, then 45 minutes in tow launched glider - 0 - 80 mph in 2 secs, 10 seconds to release tow cable. Instructor was flying initially to get sufficient height then handed over to me to actually control and fly. Fantastics views all round and managed to keep glider fairly level, even on turns (only slight drop). instructor took over to return to auirfield, then handed control back to me to land (new trousers, please!). Bit rough and bouncy but nothing broken.

Had lunch with family and some friends as longer afternoon session had been postponed due to a low cloud ceiling.

Instructor came in during lunch and said that as the weather was improving I could either repeat the whole day later or do the longer flight that afternoon. Decided to go for it and then spent 30 minutes helping to launch other gliders on the tow system (quite enjoyable) before the plane was available to tow launch us.

Much slower launch speed and a lot longer circling to get height before release and free flight. Actually up higher than morning flight and even more spectacular views. Flew over 20 miles from airfield and then circled round to about 10 miles down range with instructor simply telling me when to turn to a specified heading. Then instructed to fly back to airfield and approach for landing. Had to circle back as one glider landing as we got near but was then able to approch and land. Made a better job than morning attempt and very pleased with myself.

Decided not to take lessons as instructor had mentioned other traffic to left or right of us and I was unable to spot anything.

Glad she bought the lesson and glad to have completed the flights.

      🧙‍♂️🧑‍🦯🛫🤣

    • I bought one of those track days for my husband 's birthday a few years ago and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Glad you had a good time Trekker.

    • Sounds like great fun, and I think you were very kind to think of Em and Simon before posting about it. I know they probably wouldn't feel slighted, but it was very diplomatic of you.

    • Brands used to be my "local" circuit (I live closer to Silverstone now) and I used to go down there most weekends with my friend to watch almost anything that was on. In the days when F1 was affordable for the common man, we watched Nigel Mansell win the Grand Prix there and have to be lifted out of the car from exhaustion afterwards.

I've also driven laps on the Indy circuit on a couple of occasions, in a Lotus Elise, an XR3i and a Formula First single seater. Still got the certificate here, 30th August 1988.

I'm pretty sure that I couldn't get in or out of at least two of those cars now. Even at the age of 25 I had to crawl out of the Elise on hands and knees because it was raining, and with the hard top bolted on the entry and exit was like going pot-holing.

That bit of the circuit at the end of the start/finish straight where you're going full pelt and the track drops from under you just as it bends to the right is a real test for the underpants.

They have a non-standard flag system on those track days, and I got a "slow down, you nutter" waved at me.

    • Glad you had a good time., Trekker.

    • Glad you enjoyed your day out T22...

    • I had a Track day at Fen End through work a couple of years ago. It wer great !

      Even had a go of a V12 E Type !

    • Sounds like a great day Trekker.

    • My husband would love this!

    • What a great day you had Trekkar22. It has been many years since I was driving an Aston Martin.

    • Glad you had a wonderful day. I was thinking about getting this for my OH last Christmas but for some reason I didn't as I couldn't find enough information on it, but I will definitely look into it again and take on board the extra £50 which would be worth it the way my OH drives!

    • What a great birthday present, Trekker. Many years ago, my old neighbour was treated to a day out at Brands Hatch and he was ecstatic about it. Not for me, I am afraid, the Dodgem cars at the fairground frighten me.

  • Had a nice surprise yesterday, winning on the main draw, with a nice bonus as well :). The other claimant as there were 2/2, was my partner

    • hope you have fun spending it both of you

    • Congratulations on your win! 🎉🎉

    • Aunt Sally, I've been playing for about 10-12 years, so had a tidy £180+ bonus. My partner hasn't been playing long but likes to top-up with the surveys so £400+ together

    • Congratz both of you.

    • Well done both of you. Hope you had nice bonuses too.

    • well done Devilschild.Did you both receive the same bonus or did one of you join before the other?(just being nosy!)

    • Congratulations 🥳

      LLAP 🖖!

    • Double bubble nice..

    • 🎉 Congrats 🎉

    • Congrats to both of you 🎉

  • Sorry to hear this Em.

  • Unfortunately we received bad news yesterday. Simon's cancer has spread a lot, his liver isn't functioning properly and there's no more they can do for him. It's a matter of weeks now, unfortunately. My focus naturally needs to be Simon, so I'll be taking leave for the foreseeable future. I don't know when I'll be back, but I will be back and in the meantime we all know that Marie will keep the admin running smoothly. (Thank you Marie)

    • Not a regular commentator, but a regular reader of comments here and I’d really been hoping all would go well for Simon and Em. Sending all good wishes and whatever I can muster that might provide some help. Thinking of you both. X

    • Seeing the number of posts on this, plus the other individual ones, will hopefully show Em and Simon how much they are both thought of. I know we are more familiar with Em, having ‘spoken’ with her so often, but my thoughts at this point are with Simon even more. I know how scared and powerless my husband felt when he was given the news, and can only feel relief that, with acceptance, came some peace, and I hope Simon can come to terms with it now. You will be parted for just a little while, if what we are told is true; whatever your beliefs, it helps to have something to hang on to. Thinking of you both now .

    • So sorry to hear this. Hope you can cherish every moment together.

    • So very sorry to hear this Em, sending love to you both 💔💞 xx

  • Today’s puppy tails:

I decided to, in one of those idle, mad moments we have sometimes, that it was time to take the pups out into the big wide world. I had, originally, thought of taking Shadow, but it meant doing it all again with Storm at another time, and what the heck… so off we went, leaving Indi at home (I do have limits, and she was very tired from dog-walk earlier) , first to the vets to see what their Care Club would cost (£20/month each, less £1 each for having Indi already with them) so probably not going to happen on top of their insurance. I took them in, first saying I wasn’t 100% sure they were house-trained, and they said not to worry, they were used to it. I had taken them in the garden before leaving home, and on the grass at the vets too, but said as I was leaving that there was a wet patch on the mat - not sure if they were guilty or not, but it wasn’t me! From there to Hythe, where we walked from the car park to the High Street, met lots of nice people, then on the Promenade, and back to the shops, where we persuaded a Waitrose assistant to get me a loaf, as I couldn’t take pups in, and wouldn’t leave them outside, then back to the car and home. They were absolutely brilliant the whole time, walking close on my left, side by side, loose leads, no pulling, learned to sit when I said ‘Crossing’ at roadside (only took two crossings, they did it on the third time) , learned ‘car coming - wait) which all my dogs learn, and didn’t jump up when people made a fuss of them. The only things that really scared them was a pigeon that waited until we were right on it before it flew up, and a toddler - WHAT’S THAT, MUM! - mind you, I feel the same way. On the whole, a great session, and when we got home they went in the pen, collapsed and slept for half an hour. Mentally tiring for them, rather than physically. No photos, I’m afraid- no hands free.

    • I think the percentage of Ombudsman claims is higher than 40% - what really riles me is that there are about 6 insurance companies owning most of the vet practices in the country - hardly any independent ones now. They get the premiums from owners, and a socking great excess, and now a % on top of that (eg You pay the excess plus 10% of the bill, they pay the rest) so their liability is greatly reduced, they pay the vets (ie themselves) then wallop up the premiums in many cases because you've had a claim, so they catch you again there! I know there are a few companies that don't penalise a claim (I'm with Agria, and Petplan don't either, I think) but on the whole they are working a monopolies system that is grossly unfair on the customer. They say that the premiums are so high because vets' bill have gone up so much, but they only went up when the vets sold their souls to the devil and let the insurance companies buy them - our vets have been here for around 70 years, and now say that every minute has to be logged and accounted for and charged for, every item is charged - they have no say in the rates charged and don't make much profit - I heard a vet on TV say that for every £100 charged, only about £10 is profit. And ofcourse, there's no way out - once the insurance compqanies own them, how could they get out and become independent again? That's what the MPs and Ombudsman and Monopolies Commission should be loking into.

Sorry for the long post - blame Kat for winding me up!

    • Great catch up Beth! I actually visualise as I read & I did the walk with you. You were lucky at the vets, my lovely old rough collie actually made a large honking deposit the first time he went to the vet. He was about seven then. He was rather good at making deposits in unfortunate places, once his mind was made up he couldn't be moved, park benches, steps, anything that was the right height for him to hover his bum over. Oh the embarrassment. He also sprinkled the legs of three ladies who were talking outside the market hall, they were there when we went in & still there half an hour later when we came back out. Asking for it really! I'm sure that dog used to actually laugh! He did push Mr Tom into a pond when he was thrown a stick to fetch & deliberately tripped him playing football. Definitely my dog!

BTW any pet owners had problems with pet insurance? Ombudsman has decided in favour of the owners in 40% (I think) of cases where companies have reneged on policies or given misleading advice. Worth checking it out if you feel aggrieved by them

    • I shall repeat this to them like a mantra five times each every day.

    • I agree with samandi

    • I think you've done an excellent job getting them well trained so young. A well behaved dog is a joy.

    • Well done, Shadow & Storm!

    • I am chuffed to bits with them - I do about 5 mins a day with each one, either indoors or in the garden, and practise it at least once on a walk, which they get three times a day, and it all came together today. Mind you, it could have all gone wrong!

    • You are training them well Beth, what good pups they are.

  • I may have missed a comment but I hope Em is ok?

    • Little Owl - I hope Simon feels up to it - the pups weren't old enough to take them out before, but I'm sure they would benefit from it, as it's so peaceful n the woods.

    • @AJR I hope you feel better soon! 💞

    • Sending love and hugs to Em and Simon, in these extremely difficult times for them both x

Thanks also to Marie for letting us know.

    • Yes Little Owl good idea.Living with constant worry in the back of your mind must be tough.

    • I was also wondering, but didn't comment as I've not been to good myself and thought I'd missed the comments.

    • They could both do with a walk in the Forest with Beth and the puppies.

    • Thanks Marie, I was beginning to wonder if they'd been abducted by aliens, you know most of us worry if someone suddenly vanishes.

    • Thanks for the update Marie. Give Em and Simon all of my love, thinking about them..

    • Em has asked for this week off due to stress, which is completely understandable and which Chris has agreed to. It was a last minute decision, which is why she didn't give any advance notice as she usually does. Thanks for asking after her though, I know she appreciates how much you all care about her.

    • I noticed yesterday that I hadn't seen any comments from Em

I hope she and Simon had an appointment at Hospital! As the wait must be unbearable.

    • I was also thinking about Em, hope she's ok and we hear from her soon.

    • I was also thinking about Em, I don't think she's been on for a couple of days. I hope she's ok, maybe Simon has started his chemo.

    • I was thinking the same thing Jaffa, haven't seen her anywhere on site today.

  • I'm in shock...I won £10 stackpot plus £712 bonus. Cried my eyes out.We can finally get our 26 year old car fixed. So thankful and very grateful too. 10 years and 6 months of loving surveys and not missing a day....and today was my day. Never give up!x

    • 🥳🥳🥳

    • well done, happy days !!!!

    • 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎉🎉🎉

    • Congratulations , hope you can get your car back up and running with your win 🥳 x

    • Well done. I hope you and your car enjoy the win.

    • Congrats Garfield, hopefully it won't cost more than that to fix, tax & insure, with a good bit left over for fuel, & you can get out & about again.

If you still have it & in good condition in 14 years, remember in the UK, a car must be over 40 years old to be exempt from paying road tax (Vehicle Excise Duty). This operates on a rolling system, meaning from 1 April 2026, vehicles built before 1 January 1986 are exempt. You must still tax the vehicle (change to "historic" class) even if the fee is £0.

    • Congrats! I think I need to go to spec savers as I read your comment as: "We can eventually get out 26 yr old cat fixed"!

    • So pleased for you.😄

    • Well done, treat yourself to some Lasagne once the car is fixed, Garfield.

    • You're very welcome, Garfield. I'm glad you can now get your car fixed 🎉

    • Congrats. Garfield. Enjoy using your car, after it’s fixed.

    • Congratulations - a great win, and perfectly timed…👍!

      LLAP 🖖!

    • How wonderful for you (and your poorly car)

    • Congratulations on your win! Glad it came at a good time for you 🎉

    • Persistence pays! Well done, and congratulations

    • Awww congratulations 🥰

    • 🎉 Congrats 🎉

    • Great news G, i'm so happy for you, here's to your next win..

    • Congratulations Garfield, lovely win. 💰👍😃

    • Congrats on an excellent win Garfield. Your patience and perseverance has paid off well.

Make sure you keep building your bonus so that your next win will be even bigger!

It may even come up again tomorrow. 😀

    • Congratulations! 🥳 I'm so pleased for you!

  • Yet again screened out of the bonus survey before answering any questions but still got a 5p bonus

    • It just means that you didn't fit the demographics it was looking for, or that your demographic had already been filled.

    • With most surveys you're lucky to get 5p if you haven't been asked any questions!

  • They say that adverts are largely targeted, by what you say or look for ?

Racking my brain to when I may have needed a trench digger !

    • Of course Beth. Silly me. 🤔😁

    • Now, you did really mean to put 'wrench', didn't you, not 'wench' ???

    • Maybe thats it csik'. A wench has all sorts of use's 😁

    • Perhaps you were misheard?

    • They're great fun, dig a trench, put cones around it & put the backhoe away.

Everyone moans at the council, the council doesn't know what the complaints are about, traffic eventually gives up & finds another route.

      Time for another trench.

  • Good soon-to-be afternoon everyone, and thank you to the many people who have taken part in my research from here over the past week or so. I'm blown away by your support. I am now nearing 250 participants - just 11 people away!

With the kind permission of Chris (the admin of PickMyPostcode), I am sharing a link to a questionnaire I am carrying out for my Masters degree in Youth Work Leadership. I'm looking to find out more about how people around the UK perceive young people and youth work. It takes about 15 minutes of your time, and every response helps to expand our surprisingly undocumented understanding of this important topic!

    https://qualtricsxml9lhljps7.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0BAzR8hCSeGmivs

I hope you will consider taking part. It doesn't collect any especially identifying data if you are like me and don't like giving that out! Thank you in advance for your time and help.

I would be delighted to hear from anybody who is aged 21 or over and lives in the UK, but I cannot stress enough how much I'd like to hear from you if you live in Northern Ireland or London. Right now these two regions have the lowest response rates at just 11 and 12 people.

Today is the last day I'm actively seeking new participants, so if you've seen this comment and thought about taking part but never got around to it, today is your day! However. this survey will remain open until Friday the 24th at about midday, so if you are seeing it in a few days' time from now, you may still be able to contribute!

Once all is said and done in mid-June I will post a link to a summary of my findings in these comments. I can't tell you all how much I have appreciated your support, encouragement, and general positivity around my pursuit of participants here. So many of you have wished me luck at the end of the questionnaire, and each one really does make me smile. It doesn't matter if you're a youth worker of 40 years or have never heard of 'children' - I want to hear from you! Let's get to 250!

    • Thank you to everyone who participated today and over the past week or so. I’m delighted to say I’ve surpassed 255 participants now! That’s an incredible number, not least for a student project. This survey will remain open till some time on Friday afternoon, so if you’re seeing this before then - feel free to take part!

    • Thanks lidlicker, love the name!

    • Just completed for you James. You only need 10 more now 😉

  • What a waste of time spending 15 minutes partaking in a survey, answering all the questions only to be timed out on the last question❓ I think half these surveys are fake and will never pay out, I'm not wasting my time on any more

    • I have had that happen many times, but found last week that the bonus was actually awarded, it just said 'You have not qualified for any surveys at this time'. I rarely look at my bonus, so don't know if it has been awarded or not, but happened to have looked at it this time. It may be worth just noting what your bonus is before you start, then you can see if they have awarded it or not.

    • I complete one to three a week. As and when I feel like it. 😀

      They’re not fake.

If you complete at least 80%, the FAQ pages tell you what to do if you don’t get the promised reward. If you get screened out earlier you’ll get 5p directly or later. Admin always ensure you get what you should but you do have to follow the instructions.

I enjoy the few I do and very happy with my bonus accumulating. 😊

    • @lygH - I stopped years ago. I only do ones now that pay out at least £10 an hour - which isn’t many

    • The only surveys created by us at PMP are the ones which reveal the winning postcode of the Survey Draw - https://pickmypostcode.com/survey-draw/. Anything outside of this is a survey made by another company. You will notice the different URLs indicating an external survey.

Sometimes you'll be screened out of a survey because you do not meet the demographic requirements. These could be anything such as age range, gender, location, employment status, where you shop etc. Or it could be that the bracket that you fit in to has had enough responses. The external surveys like to have an even amount of answers from each and each bracket type does not get completed at the same rate.

As the external surveys are advertised across many sites, there could be many people completing the surveys at once and it is possible that your bracket could reach its quota while you are in the middle or even at the end of the survey.

That is just the nature of market research. It doesn't mean that the surveys are fake and the answers from non-completed surveys are not used. Though of course it is up to you if you want to give them a go or not.

Our FAQs explain more about external surveys, including how we can help if you have reached 80% completion or beyond:

      https://help.pickmypostcode.com/article/89-surveys

      https://help.pickmypostcode.com/category/102-surveys

Please do email us with the details outlined in the first FAQ and we will be able to add the full amount or the difference if you have already received the 5p screen out bonus.

  • More delightful puppy pictures. Thank you Beth and Em

    • I offered to show stepson where we had gone for a walk but he said he didn't want to encourage her to jump in dirty water. I said he was on a losing wicket with that one - she's not only a labrador, but obviously takes after her father, so if he wants her to stay clean he's got the wrong dog. However, he said it's because of all the germs in the old puddles, and Poppy hasn't long been vaccinated, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

    • That puppy definitely prefers dirty water @Beth. 😂

Thanks for the updated photos Beth and Marie. 😍

    • Enver, don't give Beth any ideas! Lovely photos, thanks all for sending.

    • Amazing, they were wee scraps of fluff only a few weeks ago, now almost fully grown & investigating the big wide world. Great pics, reminds me of the time I was in the bath at my lady friends & her lab heard me, barged the door open, took one look & jumped in the bath with me. She since swapped it for a walk in shower so her dog can join her showering.. . Thanks Beth8it! & Admin for forwarding them.

    • Thanks Beth and Marie, great pictures 😀

    • Thanks for the latest pics B & M, very nice...

    • Poor soggy pup I hope she got treats.😩

  • Decisions. Decisions. Which one to slap first. The maungy kid who can't sleep without Teddy or the gullible Grandad who answers her every whim. That child's wheedling voice gets on my wick,. Never have I felt more like burning a flipping Teddy bear! In front of her eyes! 🧙🪄

    • 😊😈

    • Good idea Beth. Yes, it is the stair lift advert. The child reminds me of a cousin if mine, about ten years or so my junior. She's still a mardy a**ed, manipulative creature. Needless to say I've told her so?🤣🤣🤣 Queue this side for fortunes told!🧙🧙🧙

    • Presumably the stairlift advert? Or is it not advertising stairlifts? Send said brat to fetch it herself! Her legs are younger than grandparents’.

    • I'm unsure what you're talking about, but how about using both hands then you get to slap both at once. I wish I'd been born an octopus.

  • Hello. There are 20 houses in my zip code, how will the prize work when several participants have the same zip code?

    • PMP is only open to UK residents and we may ask for proof of this in the event of a claim. Please read the FAQ using the link that the first Anonymous has shared which explains all about the different draws and how they work.

    • Hope you are in the UK, cos we generally call them post codes here.

    • They have to be active registered members to be in the draws.

    • Stackpot & Mini Draw - 1st to claim gets it.

Other draws - money is shared between all claimants.

    • The FAQ Pages have numerous short informative articles on everything!

Try copying and pasting this link to a specific page detailing all 10 draws and how each works.

  • I found out today a man called Eratosthenes who lived over 2000 years ago was the first person to calculate the circumference of the earth. He became chief librarian. Now that bit didn't surprise me as he got it wrong. He was about 46 mile out. They probably thought if you can't calculate correctly maybe you need to do a bit more reading. 😂

    • @Bob up and Down - Umm.. No it isn't!. Centrifugal force does not exist, as you state. Centripetal does but is an inwards force which he has already referred to, in this case, as Gravity. The perceived outward force, commonly known as Centrifugal Force (incorrectly as you point out as it doesn't exist and isn't a force anyway!) is a result of inertia. This acts along the line of travel, and not outwards at all. It just feels that way as the path the centripetal force, in this case gravity, wants to pull along is inwards.

    • @ Enver, there is no such thing as centrifugal force. Centripetal is the word you are looking for. Your physics is correct though

    • What Beth was describing (standing at the north pole and turning in a circle) was a spherical circle (often shortened to circle) i.e. the locus of points on a sphere at constant spherical distance (the spherical radius) from a given point on the sphere. The circumference of a sphere is measured on a circle of the greatest possible length around that sphere (except that as noted the earth isn't quite perfectly spherical, but we treat it as if it is for the purpose of describing a circumference). So you could measure it round the equator or along any of the lines of longitude, but you could also stand anywhere on the equator and walk off at an angle to the equator, then keep walking in a straight line all the way round the globe and that would also measure the circumference. Any way you measure the circumference of Earth you will always pass across the Equator twice.

    • Any rotating body is subject to centrifugal forces that pull the extremities out a bit, ... compensation for this slightly pulls the poles in, ... & if it spins faster & faster it will be in danger of turning into a flat disc, then fly apart when centrifugal forces at any point are greater than the gravity holding it together.

    • If I don't take myself in hand I'll be bigger measured round the middle than round the ends too!🤣🤣🤣

    • Ah. Not the horizontal circumference then.

    • The polar circumference is like wrapping a piece of string round the earth over the north pole and the south pole. It's slightly less than if you wrapped the string around the equator, because the earth is a bit flattened top to bottom.

    • I'd have thought the polar circumference depended on the size of your feet - after all, you only have to turn on the spot!

    • Haha, nice one!

To be fair to Eratosthenes though... the difference between the equatorial and polar circumference values is 42 miles anyway, so he was almost within the error bars :)

  • Termites went to the stream today - first time. They were all off lead on the way - I am getting used to Poppy and Storm bolting off, and learning when to shriek for them, as they do come back to the magic words ‘What’s this!’ with my hand in the biscuit-pocket. Indi bounced in and out of the stream, Poppy and Storm followed (it’s about two inches deep at the moment) then Storm decided this was a Very Bad Idea and stood on the banks watching. Shadow watched them, said, ‘I’m with Storm on this’ and scooted round the long way, round to the path. Poppy was quite happy to go through the water - then, after about ten minutes, we turned back and the boys decided to roll Poppy over as a punishment (not sure what for). You might like to imagine what a very pale lemon-white labrador looks like who is soaking wet, then rolled in the dust of a track, with pine needles all over it. 🦔

    • Let me finish this year’s assignments (30th April and 28th May) then I can think about the Creative Writing course starting in October. Once I get back into the ‘arty-farty’ mindset, instead of ‘high literature’ that we’re doing now, it might be easier. In fact, we have to do a project as part of the final exam for that, so maybe I could use it for that.

    • Not impossible then @Beth going by Envers suggestion! 😊

    • 🗣📢💻"Alexa, please search through all my PMP comments on "pups" in last 10? weeks, & make them into a funny story,.. Tell me when it's ready, so I can listen to it & make final alterations, then add photos before printing it out "🐕🐶📗 [Maybe not all at once, as AI can only follow exact simple instructions, & maybe no sense of humour].

    • The only way I could do that is print off all my posts on here!

    • Great idea@Longstocking. 😁

    • You should write a children's book about your puppies, Beth!

    • I thought you'd washed some of her colour out in the bath. LOL

    • Val, going by your avatar, you look like a Labrador person - you must be looking for a puppy? Storm would love a home with another lab…

    • Great photos Beth , Poppy definitely likes puddles or dirty streams . The bath water speaks for itself 🙈 . Thanks for all the updates , they are all beautiful pups and Indi is a good mum , just like yourself ❤️

    • I've sent these out now. The one of her in the bath is my favourite!

    • What a lovely area you live in Beth, such a great place for the pups to play in. Do keep them coming with updates on their progress, great entertainment and such sweet pups (most of the time! 😁)

    • Stepson kept Poppy in his rooms last night - first time away from the boys. He said she was very good, whined for a few minutes but went off to sleep, and her cage was clean overnight! We're making progress. Boys were very good too, only one heap each to remove, which is a big improvement. He took her out this morning and I took her with the boys at lunchtime - discovered Poppy is her father's daughter! Her dad, Yogi, absolutely loves water, leaps in with gay abandon from about 4' high, with an almighty splash, swims like a fish. Pops found her first big puddle today - after yesterday with the stream I hadn't thought much about water, and it's qute dry everywhere, but this is a yellowy-grey clay puddle... she ran through it, rushed back in and round the side, jumped in from the bank, stuck her nose in and searched under water... did I mention she is a very, very pale lemon labrador? Was... We got home, I dumped the boys in their crate and headed for the bathroom with her. Once she got over the initial panic as the water came in around her, and the warm water came through, she was fascinated, drank out of the tap, sat in it happily and was no problem. Apart from her face, which I didn't want to make too wet on her first time, in case it frightened her, she is back to normal colour now. Photos to Em shortly.

    • Sounds like they all give as good as they get.

    • I know I shouldn't be laughing, but that is so funny!

    • What! She’s an absolute thug! She sneaks in an grabs a leg or ear or tail, then when the other one is shrieking or snaps at her, then one who’s been lurking or happily joining in the bundle gets nipped by mistake and then retaliates, and the boys have a ding-dong… she bounces round yapping at them, safely out of range, then jumps on both of them. Hooligan.

    • Poor Poppy, brothers can be real bullies at times 😄

    • A porcupine?

  • Can anyone explain why my loyalty score would have dropped to 97% over the past 2 days? It's been at 100% for years and I check in twice every day so I'm at a loss as to why it's dropped. 97% is still good (better than I did at school anyway!) but I'm just curious.

    • Thanks Admin. I have no idea how I managed to miss 2 consecutive days but it explains the drop in my loyalty. Goodness knows where I was or what I was doing on those 2 days! 🤷🏼‍♀️ I worry about myself sometimes! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Thanks for taking the time to find out for me.

    • The Loyalty Score is calculated over 30 days. I have searched for your email address, Mrs Pea, and checked our Visit Log which shows me the past fortnight. You didn't log in on 10th or 11th April but have every other day. So that will explain the slight decrease.

    • No idea! If it's calculated on a 24 hour basis, it could be if you check early one day, forget in the latter part, then check again during the following late morning. But you said you check twice a day so maybe it's just a glitch. As you know, it's only a bit of fun.

For those who were unaware ...

    • Thanks for reminding me how old i am. :-( .

    • Ha, ha - Thanks for a reminder of a distant memory!
