We see lovely comments from elated £5 Flash Draw winners, and £10 Stackpot winners all the time, but we very rarely hear from our bigger winners… Why?
It’s something that has troubled us for a while. Most of the time the biggest winners don’t even bother saying thanks… Of course that’s their prerogative, but it’s a crying shame. My guess is that it’s because winners of large amounts want to stay “anonymous”, perhaps to avoid begging relatives and “friends”. Maybe it’s just to avoid having to buy a round at the pub. Or, perhaps it’s just that larger amounts make FPL seem like a company, and small amounts make us seem like a person. Who thanks a company?
Whenever we do hear post stories of winners we get overwhelmingly positive responses from well-wishers who love to hear that the prize money that they missed out on has gone to someone deserving and that they are spending it on something worthwhile.
To encourage more winner stories from bigger winners we’ve started asking winners of more than £100 to fill out a form with questions about them and their win. Of course, it’s up to you what you share, and indeed, whether you tell us the truth, but I’m happy to say that we’ve already had some good responses.
Vince from Havant was pretty lucky to have won £1000 + £10.27 Bonus on Friday the 13th. He tells us he’s never won anything as big as this and he’ll be spending it on Christmas.
Samantha Hughes won £111.29 which she says she’ll be spending on lunch and shoes for her children (don’t get those mixed up Samantha), and Stewart from Manchester won £257.02 which he’ll be spending on dinner with his wife on holiday in Ibiza. You can both have a “large one” with that kind of money Stewart!
We love hearing from winners, so please keep them coming!
Chris 🙂
