Bonus leaderboard

Thanks fp, 78 is the highest i have been on the PMP leaderboard. I peaked at 80 but did sneak up to 79 when someone dropped off but went back to 80 and down further until my current second wind. Looking in the distance I can see Shyboy throwing the caltrops out behind him. I better find some sturdy shoes.

Took my last antibiotic today. My appointment with the doctor isn't for a month. Hoping it doesn't flare up in that time.

Sunny and warm, we threw open all the windows in the flat for the first time since moving in which showed up the accumulated dirt in the channels so that's another job to do!

I'm having probs with the £1 bonus survey. I was doing it on the bus coming home and it froze. Now when I try to access it I just get a blank page with an error

Quite a pleasant sunny day here, a bit on/off as quite a lot of cloud too. Not been out though but it was very warm when I woke up early a.m.

Son’s birthday today, he took the day off to play golf, so has a nice day for it.

I read 2 totally different weather forecasts 1 said there was snow on the way- up to 6” across N.West to S.East & presumably all between, The 2nd. BBC said it was going to be up to 18*- warmer than most European holiday destinations.

Thanks for asking FP. The tooth is responding to the antibiotics, and I'm not taking many painkillers. The little pain in the mouth knows the worse time to flare up... on the bus going and coming home from work. Maybe tomorrow I will remember to take some water with me to pop some pain killers, though if I sit there chanting to myself "I can ignore this toothache" the pain does eventually go away.

Thanks Susiewoo2 - it does seem to have, it’s 2 years since I had mine done - & your Dad too. Mr FP was offered a choice to be longsighted or remain shortsighted- I certainly wasn’t offered a choice & for £3k you can lose the glasses altogether!

I suppose it depends how old you are, it might be worthwhile to be glasses-free 🤔 I was always longsighted so only started needing reading glasses in mid 40’s when my arm wasn’t long enough😄

Mr FP only wears glasses for driving & he preferred to keep that.

The laser treatments are getting cheaper and better all the time, so hopefully next generations will have even more choices.🤞

@Jaffa - What caused it is a mystery. Getting up from sitting hurt, yesterday I was hanging on everything for support, ... but now I'm moving about fine carrying things, Just had leg cramp & had to stand quick. I stretch all the time & slow walk round the block (450yds to Co-Op with slopes) most late evenings admiring the fairy lights, low airplanes, moon & stars & picking up any money near the shops & ATM.,

Enver do you know what I mean by cat stretches?They are good for low back pain but do them gently .

Yep, I have had trouble sleeping with really bad lower backache last few days, but it seems to be slowly passing, doesn't help as it's usually drizzling here, but I try to at least walk round the block daily. Noticed there are not so many comments on PMP as there used to be, hope it's cos you are all battling with laundry & gardens, doing surveys & recovering from any health problems, eyes, chest infections, & toothaches, & especially Nokey Blokey & Bridie..

I'll attempt some more surveys soon as I'm slowly sinking down the PMP leaderboard, instead of trying to stay top of the daily UK leaderboards on Arcadium (their games are challenging & have slightly different versions on many sites).

Had intermittent loading problems lately with "You do not have permission to access the game on this server" (via Maximiles), but Olga G & Vladimir at Arcadium in New York were very helpful, & soon managed to fix it.

Many UK hospitals discourage or outright ban fresh flowers on wards and in clinical areas due to infection control, allergies, and safety risks. While some allow flowers, they are often prohibited in high-dependency units, intensive care (ICU), and children's wards. Always check with the specific ward staff before bringing or sending flowers.

Can you still take flowers ?I thought they had banned them.

Clean pyjamas, fruit, juices, choc bars, flowers (not red & white), puzzles & books, etc are always welcome by hospital patients. Unfortunately others pinch them when they are not looking. Hope you can find somewhere to park next time you try to visit.

FP, my sister's family very rarely get in touch, if at all. If they are around when I see my sister at home they will chat. Brother in law is sociable but looks down his nose. Still, that's his problem if he thinks he is so superior. Anna's first husband was a really nice chap. Shame he couldn't keep his trousers zipped up. Hopefully when I do get inside the hospital, I'll see if any staff can give any information.

Shyboy, all hospitals seem to be the same nowadays, no matter where in the country-BB or not.

Put the washing out this morning as it was going to be the warmest day so far this year and possibly light showers late afternoon. Had to go into Cosham this morning. Glo did whatever it was she was going to do and then we went up to the hospital. We were going to go into the cafe then visit my sister. Three laps and absolutely nowhere to park. Back down into Cosham and shared fish and chips in Wetherspoons. Back to the hospital and joined the queue of cars looking for a parking space. By now it is raining. Still couldn't park so we came home. Luckily it hadn't rained at home but I could feel spots in the wind so the washing came in. Luckily it was almost dry. Temperature is no different to yesterday.

Well at least he got his comeuppance Jaffa, no one ever got caught for our’s.

We have been burgled while at work and a prison officer walking by saw the man leaving and noted his registration and later identified his picture.It was pure luck he was there and the guy got 4 years as he was already well known to the police.We never got our things as within the four hours it took to catch him he’d fenced it and refused to say where.

Glad you arrived home safely Bruce8. That previous faster journey must have been a bit harrowing, wondering what you were going to find.

We were burgled several times when we were out visiting a relative, it felt like they must have hung around watching us go.

The amount of damage they did to doors, locks etc was excessive. They stole jewellery, including my engagement ring, some collectors items, some family items as well as husbands tools & cash.

I think it’s more that feeling of someone having invaded your home & trampled through it, that’s actually worse than the theft!

There are just some real scumbags out there.

Yes I agree re PB but I did enjoy the books.I don’t always read such worthy stuff it’s just what takes my fancy at the time.

I looked up the Regeneration Trilogy- quite mixed opinions- seems people either loved or hated it, maybe it depends on your age🤔

The Liane Moriarty books are just poor fiction, she’s an Aussie Author- has written some entertaining stories.

Pat Barkers Regeneration Trilogy.Its about aspects of WW1including the war poets.

@Elaine - Continually Refreshing the survey draw page & clicking on "Click to reveal survey draw result" once it's revealed should give a further survey wall. Rinse & repeat, even when no more, may be some a few minutes later..

I went to Sainsbury's in drizzle this aft, got a few reduced bargains (5 big tomatoes 50p, c-cup mushrooms 35p, cress 10p ea), but what annoyed me was I forgot to unlock my Nectar card point spending before leaving home, so had to pay money for all the non-bonus extras I got, but on the up side I earned another 163 bonus Nectar points & caught a bus back with my heavy rucksack after only 5mins wait.

I genuinely don't know how you all manage to gain so much in your bonuses. I have only been on PMP for around 6 months and today was possibly my best day adding 54p. Is there a secret I am missing?

Same here Shyboy, just 3p so far for me & all issues! We’ve also got the heavy showers so can’t do any washing for now. Mr FP is trying to get jobs done in advance of his Cataract op. next week.

I never heard back from the GP who said he’d ring me after I’d finished the last lot of antibiotics- so don’t know if they’re still planning another CT scan or not. Mind you they didn’t tell me last time, I just got a text asking me to ring them so they could check my medication before the scan.

Ooh painful, hope it works out ok, my previous comment disappeared, if you have trouble sleeping because of it, you could try Anbesol, from most Chemists, it Anaesthetises it as well, so if you rub it on at night you’ll usually be able to nod off before it wears off.

Hopefully you won’t need the root canal work, if there is enough tooth left to rebuild it. Root canal is mainly for crowns.

Never heard of that CS, I'm on antibiotics now. I don't know whether I should be thankful that it isn't a cavity. The tooth has been worn down and the nerve is exposed, so the options were removal (which I'm not fond of, because it's a front tooth), or root canal (which I'm also not fond of). So the dentist took an x-ray and she is confident there is enough tooth left to build it back up. So root canal it is. I'm also now on antibiotics because there is an infection from the nerve being exposed.

I'm WFH today (not that I have any real work to do) as I have a very sore front tooth so desperately trying to get in to see a dentist today. I've managed to book an appointment for Thursday, but life is going to be pretty miserable if I can't get earlier.

A friend has told me his dentist recommends rubbing some Sensodyne Repair and Protect on the tooth and let it absorb into the tooth. I'm willing to give it a shot I'm that desperate. The swirling warm salty water is also about to start.

The dental surgery told me to ring at 2pm (I've already rung 3 times) to check if there have been any cancellations for this afternoon. I'm not too hopeful.

EDIT: After my 4th call today I have an appointment in 45 mins. Better get my running boots on. Thankfully the dentist isn't far from home.

I'm a bit old fashioned, went to Clark's, gave him a choice of 2. Neither in stock so ordered them for home delivery, very pleased they arrived today.

Fashion did not exist when I was young and school dictated what we were allowed to wear and that was that.Not sure it’s any better now for mums when uniform is more relaxed.

I was taken to one shop only, (Clark's had a pet pigeon & a Muffin the Mule where I had my photo taken), never asked which shoes I liked, only if it fits, & always told "Get what you're given, & be thankful, many kids in Africa don't have any".

Problem at most hospitals is a shortage of BB places, I suppose they want to maximise income!

Getting only a few low paid surveys, been screen out and had 2 where the quota was full, so they avoided paying anything (not even 5p).

Have sorted out most of Mum's paperwork. Got a couple of items to renew online and will check the meter readings. Hospital appointment tomorrow

Yes North West, actually saw some sunshine today- not been much of that lately- washing was able to go out on the lines- didn’t dry completely but didn’t take too long to finish with the dehumidifier.

17th February 2021....pretty sure this could've been lockdown time...less time for surveys now but still keep in the loop reading and commenting when I can.

I didn’t comment in the first few years, I just used to read everyone else’s. Mostly Dave (comfortably numb) CS - etc I think most of those at the top of the LB were here too, The Ghost & Hatterles and Alasdaird- there were a lot of people who used to comment back then who don’t now, it’s odd how things change over time.

@Elaine - I joined on 23rd July 2015, & have done quite a few surveys (on & off), taken a few bonus offers, & referred a few people, as well as 3p for checking daily. My bonus is currently £1367.

FP You were here before me. I joined 30th December 2017 (so PMP tells me). I had a bit of a break b(can't remember when) ecause I erroneously thought PMP was the reason why my cousin was receiving emails with my name on them. Of course during that time in 2019 my postcode came up in the Stackpot. Can't remember when I started up again, maybe just before the pandemic. But yeah December was my 8 year anniversary

10 years in April for me. Doesn't time fly. I remember getting excited to reach £20 bonus.
