Blog News Happy New Decade!

Happy New Decade!

by Chris | News

chrisSorry for the silence. We’ve been waiting for Megxit to blow over, but it won’t. A few updates from us.

Cint is finally fixed! Massive apologies to everyone who has endured the failed Bonus allocation after completing Cint surveys. It’s taken us a lot longer than we’d hoped to fix, but it is now done. We’re working on finding a way to retrospectively allocate missing bonuses, so please hold a little longer. Thanks for your patience, and particularly to Dave Moore, for his persistent reminders to us.

Beware dodgy ads! More massive apologies. Hardened PMPers will know the drill, but if you’re new, please be very careful if you see an ad that seems too good to be true, particularly the ones that mention your mobile network and claim to have selected you for a new phone. It may seem implausible that we cannot stop these, but the internet is a very (and increasingly) imperfect place. We’re dependent on online ads to fund the prizes and pay our wages, so when these rogue advertisers take advantage of the very complicated ad tech infrastructure, there is surprisingly little we can do. Even so, we’ve been working very hard with our partners to identify and block them. They’re very good at finding new ways through (eg. changing their domain name, ad accounts, etc.) and the platforms that idly profit from them are very bad at doing much about it. Not to mention any names, but a quick INTERNET SEARCH might throw up a few clues…

Anyway, we’re hoping that 2020 is the year that we can ditch these automated ads. We’re making some money from the surveys (went they aren’t broken), and have a few other ideas up our sleeves. Any of your ideas are more than welcome.

Finally, if you want a laugh at our expense, see here.

Have a lovely weekend!
