FPLers, meet Ben. Ben is obsessed with ticking off his “bucket list” and inspiring others to do the things they’ve always wanted to do. He’s created a promising site and inspired me to write about it. He’s also giving away a free trip to see the Northern Lights in Iceland.

The Dream Makers is a membership service that gives you everything you need to live the bucket-list life, including:

• Travel, adventure and experience discounts.
• Guidance and inspiration from other adventurers’ stories.
• A monthly prize draw to win amazing experiences.

 
When I met Ben I was a little blown away by just how passionate he was:

“I want to be the guy helps makes people’s dreams a reality – there’s so many things we want to do, and in reality there’s no real reason we aren’t doing them, sometimes it just takes someone to show you how easy it easy. For me, it was going to visit my friend I knew when I was six years old. I was born in Canada and lived there until I was 6, then his family moved to the US, and my family moved to the UK. We reconnected on MySpace (of all places!), and when I was 21, I went to visit this person I’d known when I was a kid but who was now basically a complete stranger. Since then we’ve been best of friends, visiting each other over the last few years. But that trip, saying yes to that adventure was the first in a long stream of events that would lead to me moving to London and subsequently traveling around Europe, America, Canada, Russia and beyond.”

His ultimate aim is “to become a membership service that gives you the ability to tick an item off your list every month for less than a cup of coffee a day.”

The Dream Makers have just launched but they are already giving away a trip for two to see the Northern Lights in Iceland. The winner will be selected from their members on Monday the 20th of November. As it stands, there are only about 50 members, so an FPLer stands a good chance of winning.

I should point out that The Dream Makers is a paid service costing £1, £3 or £5 per month depending on which membership level you opt for. Whilst the chance to win the trip to Iceland is exciting for adventurers, I wouldn’t pay to be a member if, like me, your ideal trip is to the pub with your laptop. But if you are the bucket-list type I think the benefits of the service are worth it, and Ben’s the guy to pull it off.

I should also point out that Ben is not paying us for this article. Although we’ll try to take some money from him if it becomes as successful as we think it will 🙂
