3 years ago on Tuesday I sent a message to all my Facebook friends saying that I was going to give away £10 at midday. Understandably, they thought it was a hoax.

In hindsight, April 1st wasn’t the smartest date to choose to launch a new site, but eventually the message got through and after a few weeks of handing out money to old school chums it started to spread. For the first 6 months I was effectively running a charity until on the 11 of September 2011 (another inappropriate date) I started to break even. We’re now 3 years old and still here despite my poor timing.

For our first birthday I doubled the prize money from £10 per day to £20, and the following year I launched our sister site BirthdayBingo.co.uk.

This year, I’m having some FreePostcodeLottery.com T-Shirts made. Since it’s our birthday it seems appropriate to award some of these to our most loyal users.
