Money-Saving Tips for Affordable Adventures

by May | Bonuses, Deals, Discounts, Family, Promotion, Special offer

With summer well and truly upon us, the urge to splurge for a holiday is everywhere. But the cost of living currently makes that difficult to do.  Here are some tips, tricks and offers that could help you save a little on your trip – everything from booking your holiday, to things you’ll need, and even some things to do.

Save on Booking:

Although not as applicable now, since we are so close to the summer, trying to book now for this summer would cost a fortune; these could be kept in mind for future trips, or to book now for an off-peak holiday to give yourself something to look forward to.

Compare Prices

This seems straight forward, but always compare prices. Try comparison sights like Skyscanner and Kayak for flights, or try direct to the airline as they might have an exclusive offer. For accommodation, there’s Airbnb, Booking.com and other such sites, or you could try a hostel or a home exchange (this is especially good if you have pets!)

And never underestimate you’re friendly neighborhood travel agent, they might be more expensive or they could have an incredible deal! It’s all just about hunting around for the thing that’s right for you.

Book Early/Off-Peak and be Flexible

Always try to book your holiday as far in advance as you possibly can! If you can avoid over summer holidays that will also help bring down the cost. If you’re looking at shorter city breaks, being flexible with days and flying on a Tuesday instead of a Friday could help save you some money too.

Suncream and Travel Toiletries:

If you are going somewhere hot, SPF is essential! We have some offers that could give you a good deal on your sunscreen and other small travel toiletries you might need for your trip.

Save on things to do:

Free Walking Tours

These are a great way to explore the place you’re visiting for low to no cost. There are hundreds of companies that do this, just google free walking tour and the name of where you are visiting. They are free to book and attend and usually only ask for a small donation at the end of the tour if you enjoyed it. It’s a great activity if you want something to do, learn some history and find some places you might not have thought to visit on your own.

We have a few options if you are relaxing by the pool and need something to keep you busy. Whether you are a reader, a listener or a puzzler, we have some amazing offers to help you save on these rather than picking them up in a pricy shop in the airport.
