Blog Name change update

Name change update

Massive thanks to everyone for the feedback on our last blog article and new names survey. We just wanted to give you an update

UPDATE: We’ve just added another Pick My Postcode logo variation and restarted the survey 🙂

Turns out you really don’t like the name Pocolot. Well, some of you liked it when you realised it was a composition of “post”, “code”, and “lottery”, but this might be a bit too “clever”, especially for new members who might not get it and think it’s some sort of Spanish dish that you might dip your bread into. We hear you… Although you did like the logo. It’s not gone for good, as we still have some tests to do…

The clear favourite is “Pick My Postcode” by some margin which, if you’ve been following the story, is not exactly the safest option, given that PPL have not accepted the offer we made to change to “Pick My Postcode” back in November.

A lot of you liked “Freepo”, but were a little concerned that it sounded like we were offering free… erm… droppings. Kat’s last-minute dog probably didn’t help there. The dog has gone to live on a farm… Although may make a return one day.

You, of course, loved “FPL” because, I assume, you’re used to it. So, we got thinking. What if we combine “Freepo” with “FPL”? How about “Freepl”? Kat then had a play with the map-pin/heart logo that went with the “FPL” logo to make it look less like a broken heart.

Sorry to ask again, but we’d love it if you could let us know which you prefer in the comments below, and preferably in yet another survey. We’ve included two logo variations for each name.

Finally, I have to thank everyone for all the feedback and support. Especially the omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient Dave Moore who went to the trouble of creating a petition to “Save our Free Postcode Lottery” on Change.org, not to mention Janet Rogers, Lili Hurst, Darren Prentice and everyone else who have been signing and sharing it.

Thanks so much.
