You may have noticed that we are asking you to “vouch for us” on our Facebook ads. We realise this is a cheeky ask, but there’s good reason.

When I had the idea for a free daily lottery funded by ads, I never realised quite how hard it would be to convince people that it’s real. Here’s a selection of some of the comments we’ve had on our Facebook ads over the last few days

I’m not blaming anyone for coming to these conclusions. The internet is a murky place, and we’ve been told for years that there’s no such thing as a free lunch dinner. In fact, I would strongly advise to be very wary of anything that claims to be giving away free money.

We’re actually surrounded by ad-funded businesses (well, maybe a little fewer recently…), but for us the prizes are one of our costs, just like printing is for a free newspaper. Hopefully, if you’re reading this, you’ll already know we’re legit, and in fact, have given away over £1.2million since we launched. That’s a LOT of Paypal payments.
