We’re Donating Our Christmas Party

by Chris | Charity

UPDATE: The 10k walk is tonight (we’re ignoring the weather forecast) and we’re just about half-way there with just under £2,500. If you haven’t had a chance to give your support, now is the time. Thanks! 🙂

So many of you agreed about curtailing the excesses of Christmas that we’ve decided to bin our usual consume-fest and spend our time, and money, supporting those who don’t have a postcode to call their own. We want you to join us on Sleep Walk for Shelter!

Every day 135 families across Britain become homeless. At 7pm on Wednesday the 5th we’ll be joining hundreds of others at Sleep Walk for Shelter to help fight homelessness on a 10km night-time fundraising walk from Liverpool Street, across central London to Waterloo. We are inviting you to join us or sponsor the team to raise money in aid of Shelters vital work supporting homeless families this Christmas.

Of course, we realise this is not possible, or totally impractical, for the majority of you. Your messages of support, donations (however small), and sharing of this post and our fundraising page will go a long way. There are a lot of you, and following your amazing contribution to Shrouds of the Somme, I know we can make a real difference.

And if you can make it, please come along. Central London is beautiful at night, particularly by the river, it will be great exercise, and you’ll definitely meet some lovely people. There will be at least one opportunity to grab a drink in the warmth… If you want to join, please sign up here.

We usually pile into a local restaurant and then a pub, or two, to celebrate Christmas, but this year we decided we can do without. Please think of something you can do without this Christmas and donate the cost to families who have to do without a home.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Chris & Team x
