Pick My Postcode Joins WhatsApp Channels

by May | Community, Email, News

We’re excited to say we’ve a new way to remind people of the daily draws as well as other PMP news: WhatsApp Channels.

Recently we’ve been having a number of reports of our daily reminder emails not making it through to many of you, particularly those with Microsoft emails eg. hotmail, outlook and live. So we’ve been looking for alternatives to make sure you never miss a win.

WhatApp has recently introduced “WhatsApp Channels” which allows us to share updates directly with you. By following our Channel you can receive updates such as the daily reminders and other news, as well as photos, and videos.

Updates appear in a separate tab of the app, away from your personal chats and calls. Channel updates are a one-way broadcast rather than a conversation, so you can’t reply directly to updates or send messages to channel admins. Instead you can show your interest in our channel’s content by voting on polls or adding emoji reactions to channel updates.

You can find channels under the Updates tab and by following our Pick My Postcode WhatsApp Channel. You can find the follow button in the top right hand corner of the Channel. And after following you can unmute us, by clicking the bell in the top right hand corner to receive updates. You may need to update to the most recent version of WhatsApp to have access. However, WhatsApp Channel’s is new, and they’re still in the process of rolling it out so it may not be available for you quite yet.

It’s private, so no-one can see your photo or phone number and you can’t see ours. This isn’t a replacement for the daily email reminders but a substitute until the email issues are resolved. We hope this helps and if you have any questions please contact our admin team.

Good luck in future draws.
